Assassin's Creed Unveils Bizarre AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that defies conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of prohibited rituals and fearsome transformations resonate through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret sect.
The adventure focuses on "strange experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Changes
The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Material
Players who accomplish the quest will receive an unique katana together with multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Update
This patch also adds the game's third free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
